There is a rumor around that upcoming new generation of video cards from ATI and NVIDIA might consume about 300W each! Of course, it is just a rumor, but if you'll take a look at the current high end models that consume about 130W under load, new generation cards might as well have a power consumption of 200+ watts or more. Maybe even a 300W?
Now imagine four of these "monsters" in a Quad SLI... But that's not all. How about CPUs, HDDs, RAM, Water Pumps, Bay Devices, PCI cards, Fans, etc.? In addition, if you are a computer enthusiast, add overclocking on top of it. Amazing, huh?
